Oprah is covering Terri's story today. Her site also has a discussion thread on the topic. Check it out. It's a real shame the misconceptions some have about Terri. Most common, people who haven't read the case think that she does have a living will and that she is in a coma and on a ventilator. If you're reading this and are not familiar with the case, I encourage you to visit Terri's Fight.org and read more. She is a disabled woman who has been denied rehabilitation for years by her guardian/husband and cannot feed herself. As a result, she is fed by a feeding tube. She is NOT in a coma, she is NOT on a ventilator and she, unfortunately, does not have any sort of living will or other document stating her wishes.

Wahoo!!! My investigation is COMPLETE! To anyone who was contacted, thank you SO much :)
I start my new job on December 8 and I'll be at the Grove City location, which means that I'll probably have windows where I work. I'll be on a really nice Monday through Friday schedule, so I can continue to do silly things like karaoke with out having to request time off. And what a day to start, too... Feast of the Immaculate Conception! A great day for beginnings, if you ask me.
Now I have to write up a two-weeks notice letter for Wal-Mart and take it in to Ada or Mel or whoever gets those things. I only have a few days to get it in though so that they have it in enough time that they don't schedule me after what will be my last day. I'll miss working at #1770. It's a good place to work and the people I work with are great.
Eek. I'm so excited!!!!! This is part of the problem with my current work schedule... Everyone I know (who doesn't work WITH me) is at work right now and the only way to share my excitement is by blogging it.

The celebrating of my birthday went off with out a hitch... almost... the weather was pretty yucky, so driving was an adventure. Beth's marching band sounded awesome. She was the lonely little trumpet in the back row with a bunch of clarinets. Kim had every traffic nightmare you can imagine on her way to Clare House and I even got lost but I still beat her there. While I was waiting for Kim, I got the bad news that Amanda and DeeDee were both feeling sick and weren't going to be able to make it for the fun... but they're going to try to come up next week. At Applebee's, I finally got served without being asked to show ID. It was a lovely birthday gift, which I'm sure will be very short-lived. At class, Kim & Caroline made everyone sing to me & we had cake.
Karaokee was incredibly fun. Another "regular" was having a birthday last night, so it was double the fun. Lots of people singing happy birthday and I don't think she or I spent a penny. Our crew for the evening included myself, Kim C., Amy J., Caroline (but not Carolyn *pouts*), Tara, Erin & Erica... and Shawn, the boy who crashed the party... so to speak... last week we told him he could come if he wore a wig & a skirt... he wore no wig or skirt, but he was there. A good time was had by all. No sisters were able to make it, so we lay-folk had to sing Only the Good Die Young. And I made sure to sing some classic Tim McGraw for Carolyn since she wasn't able to make it. The likes of Def Lepperd, 4NonBlonds, Cher, Blondie, John Cougar Mellencamp and the Tractors were also covered by members of our group. Someone else at the bar sang Captain & Tennille's "Love Will Keep Us Together." It was a great flashback to my childhood and kidnapping Mom's records.
Next week, hopefully, Amanda & I will finally be able to sing We Didn't Start the Fire

Ok I was going to be done posting for a while, but I just discovered the greatest thing ever... Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban will be in theaters on June 4, 2004. That's right... the day before the wedding. And this is actually a really good thing because we're having the rehearsal dinner on Thursday, so after that's all done we can go see the first showing right at midnight!!!

It's barely the middle of November and I've been sick for most of the month. I'm really not looking forward to the rest of the winter season if this keeps up. First, a stuffy nose & sore throat... the nose is finally "functional" in that I can breathe again and my throat hurts a lot less, but now I have quite possibly one of the worst sinus headaches I've ever had. And tomorrow is my birthday! I think that I will probably stay up just long enough to watch 7th Heaven, then haul out the Sudafed & get some sleep. I've got a pretty big day ahead of myself and I still have to pack up all the stuff I'm going to need to take with me, so it'll be better to do that in the morning when I'm well rested & hopefully feeling a lot better.
