In other random rantings... how is it considered "breaking news" that CNN "predicts" that John Kerry will win the Ohio primary????????????

*Warning: Sever Bitterness Ahead*

At the request of Amanda, who seems to think it's been a long time since I updated but it wasn't even a week ago, I'm posting something new here.
It's not a pleasant topic, but it's one that is on my mind and it won't get me fired from my job if I post about it here.
RIT is single-handedly making my life far more hectic than it needs to be. For starters, my fiance is a very smart man. He started his college career with enough college credits that he could have finished RIT's Electrical Engineering 5 year BS program in only 4 years. Then, he decided to take an extra two quarters & get his MS at the same time. A wise decision. Or so we thought.... Then, suddenly, two extra quarters turned into three... and now four.... plus co-op... all because of changes in when courses are offered... and a lack of faculty who are willing and/or able to work with a student on an idependent study course. And THEN there's Senior Design Project, which, in my not-so-humble-because-I'm-annoyed opinion, can only be the work of satan himself. This two-quarter long inter-disciplinary project is supposed to teach students about teamwork in the real world (aka industry). Matt's six person group, consisting of four mechanical engineers and two electrical engineers, didn't even last a month before it failed at mimmicking industry. One ME group member just didn't do work. Any time it was suggested that he do a task, he had a million reasons why he couldn't. This group member failed to show up for the final presentation at the end of the first quarter and was then no longer part of the group.
This quarter, Matt informed his team members that he would be going home for a slightly-longer-than-usual weekend for Valentine's day. He informed them of this at the beginning of the quarter & they promptly forgot... and were thus annoyed that he was away when they wanted to do a test. As it turned out, though, the test wasn't ready then. And the project seemed to be falling farther & farther behind. Then, the team leader decided it was unnecessary for him to show up to the final presentation for the quarter... and he failed to follow through with his promises of work he would do. And to top it all off, he ran off home (or maybe to Germany) almost a week ago, leaving the four remaining group members to finish all the work. OK so in industry, that guy would have been FIRED. At RIT, he "might" fail the course. Meanwhile, my fiance and his other team members were supposed to start their spring break on Friday. They are STILL at RIT, fixing the team leader's mistakes while he's spending quality time with German beer. I am a bitter bride-to-be. My fiance should have graduated from this insane place long ago, but he's still there. And I'm here. And this week was supposed to be the most time we'd get to spend together between now & our wedding so we were supposed to be able to get a lot of stuff done. We're meeting with our priest & the balloon lady tomorrow... and Matt is driving the whole way down here JUST for that and then driving the whole way BACK there to finish what he's working on. Then, maybe, he'll get to come home for the weekend.
Have I mentioned that I am a bitter bride-to-be???

Have a lovely evening.
