some things never change
I was watching TV with my dear hubby on Thursday, just like always, when I saw a commercial for the 11 o'clock news and caught a glimps of a familiar face. I said, "I know that guy! He went to school with us!" and then I stayed up late to see if I was right. Sadly, the story was new enough that the police had not yet released his name. I stayed up for nothing. This morning, thanks to the miracle of the internet, I found this story about the incident. This is one of those times where I hate being right. The story is about a man who lead police on a chase from downtown Pittsburgh almost up into Butler county... It seems silly, he wouldn't move his car when a police officer asked him to, so he sped off when the officer started to write him a ticket. Then, when the officer followed (on a motorcycle), apparently this former classmate tried to run the officer off the road. In the end, he wrecked, tried to run on foot, but the cops caught up to him and he was arrested. I knew this man a very very long time ago, and yet I'm not surprised at all that this happened to him. I hope this serves as a wake up call so that nothing worse happens in the future.
